About Skratch Golf

Skratch Golf is a specifically designed parent-participated play programme for children aged 18 months to 4 years.

The programme uses the multiple skills of golf to create a fun, energetic, and safe environment to develop a child’s basic core motor and golf skills.

  • The sessions are made up of a monthly subscription programme in groups made of children in 2 age groups: 18 months - 2 years & 3 years - 4 years. The sessions last between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the age group and are both parent participated.

  • The sessions take place either at Plymouth Golf Centre on the driving range and on the grassed area on the short course.  The sessions are delivered primarily indoors and outdoors when applicable.

  • The sessions are delivered by Qualified Skratch Golf Coaches. The coaches are paediatric first aiders, have been through our Skratch Golf Coaching workshops, are minimum PGA Level 2 qualified and have all the relevant safeguarding and child protection qualifications.

A Childs Fundamental Movement

Between the ages of two and six years old children are starting to develop their gross motor skills and enjoy a wide variety of activities. Gross motor skills are a specific set of skills that involve different body parts such as feet, legs, trunk, head, arms and hands.

Through Skratch Golf the skills a child will learn are broken into the following 5 key disciplines:

  • Crawling, Walking, Running, Climbing, Jumping and Galloping.

  • Squatting, Climbing Stairs, Descending Stairs, Weaving and Anti Clockwise Movement

  • Kicking, Patting, Pushing, Handling, Holding, Throwing and Catching.

  • Under & Over, Shuffling & Rolling, Holding & Hopping, Running & Jumping, Speed & Direction, Drawing & Writing.

  • Putting, Chipping, Swing and Playing considering skills such as Aim, Stance, Ball Position, Distance Control, Speed and Tempo.

 

Available Sessions & Cost

We have weekly sessions available to sign up too. When you sign up you get 1 session per week at a set time and day. The following classes are available:

Tuesday 10:00 am - 10:45 am | 18 months to 2 Years

Tuesday 10:00 am - 10:45 am | 2 years to 4 Years

Thursdays 10:00 am - 10:30 am | 18 months to 2 Years

Thursdays 10:45 am - 11:30 am | 2 years to 4 Years

At just £35 per month, Skratch Golf offers outstanding value and ease of payment through our online portal. Payment it taken monthly and includes all sessions and equipment Your child will also get a t-shirt and some sign-up goodies.
